Coached in the 1995 National Championship Game in the Fiesta Bowl vs. Nebraska.
Has coached on five conference championship teams (Duke - 1989, Florida - 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995).
Helped UF to place among the nation’s top 10 in rushing defense four times in the last six years.
UF has also ranked among the SEC’s top four in stopping the run in each of the last six seasons.
Named the SEC's "1994 Assistant Coach of the Year" by the Birmingham Touchdown Club (in a vote of league coaches).
The 1994 Gator defense set a UF record by allowing just 84.6 yards rushing per game, fifth-best in the nation. Florida also allowed just 17.1 points per game, which was 16th-best nationally. UF allowed 305.3 yards per game in total offense, ranking 19th in the country.
Florida is the only SEC school to own one of the league's four-best rushing defenses each of the past six years, ranking first in '90, first in '91, fourth in '92, second in '93, first in '94 and fourth in '95.
Florida is also the only SEC school to rank among the nation's top-10 rushing defenses in four of the past six seasons.
The 1991 team ranked 13th in the nation in scoring defense (13.8 ppg.) and was the first since 1972 to post shutouts of two SEC teams.
